˖⁺‧₊ Animation ₊‧⁺˖

The combination of 2D and stop motion animation is what inspires my work.

I graduated with a BFA in Entertainment Design Animation in 2022, and am now a freelance animator!

Current Project:

The Power of Storytelling-What I'm currently working on!

I am currently the sole animator for a documentary film called The Power of Storytelling. My client, as well as the producer/director of this piece is Joanna Weaver. In a little under an hour, we dive into how important story telling is to us as humans. How much they play a role in our individualism, cultures, and how stories unite us on the Earth.

You can learn more about this project at my client's website:  www.thepowerofstorytellingfilm.com

Stop Motion Animation

using cut up pieces of paper is one of the two style of animation I am applying for this project.

The other style is traditional 2D animation, programs used for both are Dragonframe and Adobe Animate cc.

Constructing Each Scene

by hand is something I take pride in!

When there multiple moving parts that need to be put together in one scene, I use a greenscreen and edit them using Premiere Pro.

A World Contaminated

After the apocalypse caused by a nuclear explosion, the globe was covered in radiation. The lucky humans who survived did so by retreating to the bottom of the ocean, where they built a new society. About 1000 years later, the captain of a research team leads the group out into the open ocean. They are tasked to ascend in a submarine to test radiation levels in the water... when they come across something unexpected....

This is my senior capstone project from college. All humans are animated in rotoscoped 2D, mutated sea creatures are freehanded 2D, both animated using Adobe Animate cc. The submarine is constructed out of cardboard, hot glue, miscellaneous objects from my favorite junk store, fairy lights, then painted using acrylic paint. The chair moving was done in stop motion animation, using Dragonframe. The ocean's background was done by dripping paint into water, sometimes blowing at it to create the swirls you see. A green screen was used to edit each physical object into each scene, everything was put together using Adobe After Effects.

Music credit goes to Michael Heagle, the captain was voiced by Renee Werbowski, the octopus by Justin Barnharst, 2nd in command as well as the voice on the radio in the beginning was voiced by Evelyn Tyndall, 3rd in command was Emily Christensen, & the snail was voiced by Kathryn Knuston. And all sound effects as well as edits were done by yours truly!

2D Animation

I have a passion for traditional 2D animation. At this point it is an extension of my soul, and I wield it to create what I wouldn't be able to explain with my words.

Programs I use for this are Toon Boom Harmony and Adobe Animate cc.

Stop Motion Animation

How I see it, there's nothing you can't animate using stop motion animation. It really lets you get creative with materials!

To do this I use Dragonframe.

Enjoying the Process!

I'm not afraid of a challenge, I love to learn! And finding my own way to execute my creative vision is one of the most satisfying things to me.

I edit everything together using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Through The Make a Wish Foundation, I helped with the animated section for The Legend of Lex Zander animated short film. I made a 3rd of the animatic, designed some characters, designed some backgrounds, and then these videos are the rough animations for the sections they include.
